Q-Series dummy abdomens are currently only certified in a quasi-static test, where the abdomen is loaded in for-aft direction. Cellbond, along with external partners have designed a Dynamic Certification test fixture for Q10 Abdomens.
The fixture allows the testing of abdomen deformation that more-precisely resembles the action of a collision test.
A rotary potentiometer measures rotation around the base of the lumbar spine to determine the compression experienced by the abdominal flesh after impact.
