Full Width Frontal Barrier

The Full-Width Frontal Deformable Barrier was developed by Cellbond on behalf of TRL (Transport Research Laboratory, UK) from 2001 as part of the VC-Compat project. FIMCAR also worked on frontal compatibility and carried out testing with this barrier. It was designed to assess the compatibility of vehicle fronts or, in other terms, their aggressivity or partner protection. More recently, Euro NCAP adopted a modified version of this barrier for assessment of heavy quadricycles and microcars in a frontal crash.
