Hybrid III 50th Male ATD, originally developed by General Motors, is a regulated test device in the USA Code of Federal Regulations (Part 572, Subpart E) and in the European ECE Regulations. Later revisions have improved biofidelity in the femur range of motion, ankle and foot. The H-III 50M dummy is also used in many non-automotive applications such as mobility, medical and sports equipment.
