Based on the Hybrid-III Headform the Free Motion Headform is launched by a robot arm accelerator from inside the vehicle. The design of the headform allows specified head injury criteria to be calculated using accelerometers accommodated in the headform itself. This allows the headform to travel freely and strike the selected target component.
